Kathy Sharpe, Vice President of Marketing

Kathy was one of the first to understand the opportunity that digital technology offered marketers. In 1994 many colleagues thought she was “nuts”, she thought she was too late.

Prior to Resonate she was the CEO of Sharpe Partners. A digital agency she founded in 1998. Clients included: Aramark, Coca Cola, ExxonMobil, Fujifilm, Circuit City, Western Union, Halo Pet Food, and PointRoll. Billings grew to $42MM and with a 5+ year average client tenure. Over the decade Sharpe Partners strategically evolved it’s capabilities to enable Clients’ to engage their customers where they live: social sites, mobile devices and iPads. Sharpe Partners doors were closed in June 2010.

Prior to Sharpe partners she was DDB New York’s first Director of Interactive. A position she held for three years growing billing from $70,000 to over $3 Million. Her first digital marketing position was at Ogilvy & Mather Interactive where she ran the American Express and IBM accounts.

She started her advertising career at Bozell Jacobs, with positions at McCann Erickson and Hal Riney, New York.

Kathy’s opinions on the industry have been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, USA Today and MSNBC among others. She speaks at conferences, blogs, comments and tweets regularly. For the past 2 years she has served on the NARB.

Kathy earned her BA in English from Franklin & Marshall College and an MA in Cinema Studies from NYU. She lives in Manhattan with James her husband of over 20 years, their two whippets and Maude the Cat.
