George Stewart, Chief Revenue Officer

George Stewart is the rare combination of accomplished brand marketer and digital media strategy and sales veteran.  For over 20 years he has built and led highly successful marketing and sales teams responsible for driving revenue for both start-ups and Fortune 500 organizations.

Prior to Resonate, George served as EVP of Media Sales at Demand Media, a revolutionary online content producer and distributor. At Demand he built the brand advertising sales team and dramatically grew the business through partnerships with Fortune 500 advertisers, including P&G, Verizon Wireless, Anheuser-Busch, Sears, HP and GM.  George also served as SVP of Advertising Sales at Next New Networks, a web video pioneer, where he developed and sold video advertising, brand integration and online TV series across numerous social media and video sites, including YouTube, Yahoo!, Veoh, Joost and MySpace.

George began his career as a classically trained brand manager at GoodMark Foods where he led the explosive growth of the Slim Jim Brand to over $200 million in annual sales. While at GoodMark Foods he spent a decade directing the marketing, advertising and event sponsorships for several flagship brands, working closely with ESPN, MTV, WCW, NBA and NASCAR to create immersive marketing programs where brand connection with the consumer was paramount. GoodMark was acquired by ConAgra Foods.

George’s introduction to digital media was in 1999 working for LAUNCH.com, the online music start-up, where he served as VP of Ad Sales and was an integral part of the executive team’s successful efforts to establish LAUNCH as a leader in online music.  LAUNCH was acquired by Yahoo! in 2001.

While at Yahoo! Stewart served as National Director of Sales and Category Development Officer where he led his team in developing and selling high profile interactive marketing solutions placing specific emphasis on the integration of consumer brands into the organic flow of the music consumer experience.  Campaigns included Nissan’s “Live Sets”, Pepsi’s “Smash”, Saturn’s “Who’s Next”, and MasterCard’s “Music Unlimited”.

George holds a BA from Colgate University and a MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
